Conservative Dentistry And Endodontics
Conservative or restorative dentistry, also known as operative dentistry, is the field responsible for returning the proper function of the teeth, which may be affected as a consequence of various pathological situations. To attain this we have all sorts of restorative and esthetic restorative techniques such as composite, laminates, veneers etc. The primary goal of this department is prevention, diagnosis and treatment of sequelae of dental caries and the other defects of natural teeth; techniques and procedures to restore the teeth to full function and appearance in an aesthetically pleasing manner with as little loss of the healthy tooth structure as possible with periodic check-up as routine practice. The branch of Endodontics involves performing root canal treatment and associated surgical procedures. The treatment provided includes various restorations, root canal treatment, surgical endodontics, endodontic implants, bleaching, & management of traumatized teeth.
The Department is well equipped with 8 dental chairs in the PG clinic 34 dental chairs in the UG clinic. Department also has a separate Pre clinical laboratory which is equipped with 70 phantom heads with micro motor attachment. We have well equipped Minor OT with 5 step magnification microscope. The other facilities include Departmental library, Sterilization section, and Radiography section with facility for digital radiography. For laboratory work we have separate metal casting lab and ceramic lab.
